Editing Blog: Effects of the Corona Virus :(

Corona viruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV). The Corona virus disease (COVID-19) is a new strain that was discovered in 2019 and has not been previously identified in humans. Corona viruses are zoonotic, meaning they are transmitted between animals and people. Detailed investigations found that SARS-CoV was transmitted from civet cats to humans and MERS-CoV from dromedary camels to humans. Several known corona viruses are circulating in animals that have not yet infected humans. Common signs of infection include respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. In more severe cases, infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death. Standard recommendations to prevent infection spread include regular hand washing, covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, thoroughly cooking meat and eggs. Avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing and sneezing. People of all ages can be infected by the new corona virus (2019-nCoV). Older people, and people with pre-existing medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease appear to be more vulnerable to becoming severely ill with the virus. Since the outbreak of this virus I have not been able to edit with my group to help finish project. The main reason I haven't been able to edit  is because the state of Florida is under quarantine and to edit my group has to finish filming. A quarantine is a restriction on the movement of people and goods which is intended to prevent the spread of disease or pests. It is often used in connection to disease and illness. Quarantines prevent the movement of those who may have been exposed to a communicable disease, but do not have a confirmed medical diagnosis. Due to this quarantine it has been very difficult to get the group together and film or edit . One of the scariest things about the virus is how it effected the economy so quickly. My advice to anyone is that if you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early. Stay home if you feel unwell and get plenty of rest and stay isolated from the outside world.

Editing Blog: Re-Edit Blog

In this blog I will be talking about my re-editing process I went through for my project. Before i get into the details about the process, I will break down the process of editing itself. Editing is the process of selecting and preparing writing and photography. Editing also deals with visual, audible, and film media and is used to convey information. The editing process can involve correction, condensation, organization. The process can also involve many other modifications performed with an intention of producing a correct, consistent, accurate and complete work. For this project since I used a Mac book, I used the iMovie Editing software by Apple. Apple's iMovie video editing software generates beautiful titles with various effects in just a couple of clicks. Additionally in general, playing nice with other Apple products is something iMovie is quite good at. It will automatically bring in photos, videos, and audio clips from iCloud too. During the re-edit process I didn' do much of the editing but I did my part. To be a good video editor you need to be a storyteller, which means you must understand the elements to that story. A good video editor is more than just a button pusher; they're a storyteller, a listener, a problem solver and and an artist all in one. Video editing can be hard to do because usually, it's something that you hardly notice. It's only when things go bad that you'll notice a lack of good video editing. To begin you should start with good video footage. Good video editing is easy if you have good footage, to begin with. Good thing in my project we edited once before but i wasn't able to make it. All i really did was fix certain transitions into some scenes and made sure the film flowed. All in all my re-editing process was smooth as a baby's bottom.

Filming Blog: Re-shoot blog

The time has come to continue the new project but before i get to that let me recap on all I've done to this point. To start off I had to do research on the genre and the titles that would be in the film. After doing that I had to make a storyboard for the film which was ten pages. Now i am about to start the filming and editing process with my group members. Unfortunately I have been sick for the past week so I couldn't film. Since last week Thursday I have been feeling under the weather and it became worst when I attended my drum line competition that following Saturday. At the comp we placed third out of five drum lines. We also take home two best section awards; Best basses and Best quads. I went the doctors that Sunday and my doctor said that i might have the flu.... turns out she was right. The flu is treated primarily with rest and fluid to let the body fight the infection on its own. Over-the-counter anti-inflammatory pain relievers may help with symptoms. An annual vaccine can help prevent the flu and limit its complications.  My doctor also mentioned that the flu typically lasts one to two weeks, with severe symptoms subsiding in two to three days. However, weakness, fatigue, dry cough, and a reduced ability to exercise can linger for three to seven days. She also stated that healthy people usually get over a cold in 7 to 10 days. Flu symptoms, including fever, should go away after about 5 days, but you may still have a cough and feel weak a few days longer. All your symptoms should be gone within 1 to 2 weeks. So since i am feeling better I can finally start filming tomorrow with my group. Even though iv'e been under the weather my group and I still managed to re-shoot a couple of scenes. Some of the scenes we re-shot was the first few opening scenes because of some lighting issues. Some other scenes we re-shot was some scenes with audio issues such as the volume was to high or way too low.
