Editing Blog: Have not Edited Yet :/

I did not edit today because I was in attendance at my personal SAT tutoring secession. At the beginning, SAT stands for Scholastic Aptitude Test. In 1993, the SAT was renamed as the SAT Reasoning Test (or known as SAT I). Meanwhile, the former Scholastic Achievement Test was renamed as the SAT Subject Tests (or known as SAT II). SAT Structure. The SAT is wholly owned, developed, and published by the College Board, a private, not-for-profit organization in the United States. It is administered on behalf of the College Board by the Educational Testing Service, which until recently developed the SAT as well. The test is intended to assess students' readiness for college. The SAT was originally designed not to be aligned with high school curricula, but several adjustments were made for the version of the SAT introduced in 2016, and College Board president, David Coleman, has said that he also wanted to make the test reflect more closely what students learn in high school with the new Common Core standards. The SAT takes three hours to finish, plus 50 minutes for the SAT with essay, and as of 2019 costs US$49.50 (US$64.50 with the optional essay), excluding late fees, with additional processing fees if the SAT is taken outside the United States.scores on the SAT range from 400 to 1600, combining test results from two 200-to-800-point sections: Mathematics, and Critical Reading and Writing. Although taking the SAT, or its competitor the ACT, is required for freshman entry to many colleges and universities in the United States, many colleges and universities are experimenting with test-optional admission requirements and alternatives to the SAT and ACT. Starting with the 2015–16 school year, the College Board began working with Khan Academy to provide free SAT preparation.

Filming Blog: First real day of filming

Today I filmed the first couple scenes of my two minute film and it was a success. The filming process was smooth and only took about three and half hours. Today I was the actor in the film and to be honest I was kind of nervous but I made it work. To help me out I remembered some acting tips a friend of mine taught me. Even though I've acted before I'm a shy actor but that's common in males.Yes in fact some of the best male actors are extremely shy. Women actors tend to have vivacious personalities though. With acting what you need is talent. Someone without the born talent of being an actor is not going to be able to be an actor although classes help a lot. One of my group members in my opinion has a natural gift in acting. As for natural talent, it certainly helps to be born with the ability to perform. But acting is also something that can be learned and mastered through lots of practice. Like any skill, it can be taught. With passion and perseverance, you can be a great actor…even if it doesn't come naturally. In all today's experience was a good one and really fun. I really got to see if I could really act in different settings and with different people. I for one can't wait to film the rest of the short film. I believe there is a certain way to make a good or even great film. A good script as well as good directing, acting, sound design, cinematography, musical score, casting, costumes, visual effects make a movie successful. Each new element you add to the movie can either detract of enhance that vision..

Filming Blog: Starting the filming process

The time has come to start the new project but before i get to that let me recap on all I've done to this point. To start off I had to do research on the genre and the titles that would be in the film. After doing that I had to make a storyboard for the film which was ten pages. Now i am about to start the filming and editing process with my group members. Unfortunately I have been sick for the past week so I couldn't film. Since last week Thursday I have been feeling under the weather and it became worst when I attended my drum line competition that following Saturday. At the comp we placed third out of five drum lines. We also take home two best section awards; Best basses and Best quads. I went the doctors that Sunday and my doctor said that i might have the flu.... turns out she was right. The flu is treated primarily with rest and fluid to let the body fight the infection on its own. Over-the-counter anti-inflammatory pain relievers may help with symptoms. An annual vaccine can help prevent the flu and limit its complications.  My doctor also mentioned that the flu typically lasts one to two weeks, with severe symptoms subsiding in two to three days. However, weakness, fatigue, dry cough, and a reduced ability to exercise can linger for three to seven days. She also stated that healthy people usually get over a cold in 7 to 10 days. Flu symptoms, including fever, should go away after about 5 days, but you may still have a cough and feel weak a few days longer. All your symptoms should be gone within 1 to 2 weeks. So since i am feeling better I can finally start filming tomorrow with my group. Tomorrow after school I will be heading to one of my group members house to film the fist couple of scenes. By the end of the day we should gotten at least eight scenes
done.

Filming Blog: StoryBoard

Down below is a google slides presentation uploaded. This slide presentation is of the storyboard of our project. The storyboard is only of the first two minutes of the film. In it, we included each of the 20 scenes we have. We also included the titles and names that correspond to the titles within the scenes. For each box that was of a scene, we briefly described what was occurring in the scene. It shows the character(s) and the action(s) they will be doing in each scene. The sound present in each scene was also stated, such as diegetic or non-diegetic. This also includes any dialogue that may occur within the scenes, it was written under the boxes. Creating this storyboard is really beneficial to my group and I as it gives us an exact outline of each scene, and title sequence. When we begin to film, we will film with ease as we film the scenes with a clear plan of what to film. We will do this by continuously referring to our storyboard for guidance.

Planning Blog: Title Design in Details

Uploaded below is our google doc presentation. This slide presentation entails of a detailed overview of our title design. Within it, we described the fonts we chose, as well as the colors. We also discussed the spacing between the titles and the letters in the titles. Moreover, we expressed what we believe we will name the film, this far into the project. The final title of the film is subject to change but as of now we have a pretty good general idea. In another slide we also referred to the ways we will edit the titles entering and leaving the scenes when they appear. We agreed on simple fade-ins and fade-outs for them. Lastly, we touched on the duration that the titles will appear on the screen for when they pop up. The best amount of time would be two to three seconds for each. This will ensure that we fit every required title into the first two minutes. That concluded our overview of our title design.

Planning Blog: Location, Participant, Health, and Schedule

In this blog I will be talking about the Location, Participants, Health, and Schedule in my most recent project. The location is one of the many important aspects of filming, just as finding the right actors to portray a role, and just as important as the choice of music used in the film. A location is a significant visual enhancement for a movie total causative effects. The actors, location, and cinematography transcends into the emotive feedback experienced while watching what transpires on the big screen. The Participants in the film play a important role as well because without them there would be no film. Health and Safety; Professional film crews take health and safety issues very seriously. The line of responsibility runs from the Producer to the Production Manager and 1st Assistant Director and finally on to all crew members who have a duty of care which is recognized by law. Scheduling will help you to shoot the scenes in accordance to the location and make the production a hassle free process. You should have a backup plan because things might not go as per your convenience. It is important that you create a contingency plan, even if it is never used.

Planning Blog:Sound and Dialogue Script

A dialogue is a literary technique in which writers employ two or more characters to be engaged in conversation with one another. In literature, it is a conversational passage, or a spoken or written exchange of conversation in a group. It can also be between two persons directed towards a particular subject. In this blog I will be showing the sound and dialogue of my script. In my next project I will be doing a short two minute film. My group will be doing a Sci Fi film which will be called De-simulated. When it comes to dialogue in a script, every word is selected for a reason, because they want to conceal something, find something out, kiss them, hurt them and so on. The trick, then, is in making script dialogue feel like real life, but with every single conversation earning its place in the scrip. In this project the dialogue and sound will play one of the most important parts. As seen in the power point some of the dialogue is between a customer.

Planning Blog:Shooting Script

In film making and video production, a shot is a series of frames that runs for an uninterrupted period of time. Film shots are an essential aspect of a movie where angles, transitions and cuts are used to further express emotion, ideas and movement. The angle of a shot can dramatically affect how we perceive the character. The directors in a film choose to use several different angles. The angle of a camera shot is really important for shaping the meaning of the film. There are plenty of angles to film to get your point across. In my project some of the shots I will be using includes Close up sots, Medium close up, Long shot, Wide shot, and others. Some of the angles I will be using are High angle, Low angle, Action match, Eye line match, and some others. Camera shots are an essential aspect of film making and video productions, because by combining different types of shots, angles and camera movements, the filmmakers are able to emphasize specific emotions, ideas and movement for each scene
